Mariken Overdijk, Also Hansel told Gretel: “We will find our way...”

The map is not the territory.

If I take a close look to the steps we make on the grounds of daily life, I observe the body wearing out or eroding a certain track with our everyday movements. From laying down and getting up. Sitting down, standing-up, moving to and fro, moving on and on. Inside and outside private and public space. If I dissect our motivations and strategies, which are hidden in our everyday movements, will this give me an insight in how we use the public space? I would like to invite people, for a ‘1-to-1’ walk with me. It will be a walking that is solely focused on
the movement of the walking, transporting one’s body in time and space, without having to decide what to do or where to go or halt. I will be the guide. Let’s follow the sound of our footsteps and get lost.
